Our Demands


  1. Immediate release of all the political prisoners unconditionally, who are languishing in the prisons since early 90s,

  2. Grant general amnesty to exile Bhutanese citizens unconditionally and accept early repatriation back to their original homesteads with justice and dignity,

  3. Grant and ensure citizenship rights to those citizens who were deprive from  voting franchise,

  4. Give recognition to the political parties in exile to pave way for participation in the process of democratization and other related political processes,

  5. Stop the policy of advocating pseudo concept of Gross National Happiness when the people in the country are facing gross national suffering in absence of true functional democracy, freedom of press, and protection of basic human rights,

  6. Implement the recommendations that have been suggested from the  different nation state in the first universal periodic review session in Geneva,

  7. Rectify the international human rights instruments including The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights(ICESER) ,Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), The Committee Against Torture(CAT), and optional protocol of  The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW),

  8. Make a conducive environment for tripartite talks (Bhutan, Nepal & India), with the participation of the representative of Bhutanese political parties in exile &

  9. Stop ‘one-nation-one-people’ policy to end all forms of ethnic, religious and code of conduct discrimination.
